Rosarita Augustus Smith (born December 1, 2980), or more commonly known as Rita Smith, is a Wiltshirian politician who served as the 2nd Provincial Director of Wiltshire from April to June 3019. Since leaving office as Director (Prime Minister), she has served as Minister for Communities and Education and currently serves as Foreign Minister under Labour Party Prime Minister Mark Edwin.

Smith's political career started in January 3019 when she succeeded Frank Eddington as Leader of the Socialist Party. Smith, however, was not the new Prime Minister. Audrick Hill had convinced the Liberal Alliance Party to form a coalition, leaving the Socialists in opposition for the first time since early 3016. Smith did not attempt to re-brand the party, but to buy into Eddington's remaining popularity (or whatever was left of it). This strategy of preserving Eddington's work led directly to the 3019 Wiltshire Government Shutdown as a result of a disagreement over Universal Healthcare. This led to the January 3019 Wiltshire General Election, which Rita Smith lost by a wide margin (as Audrick Hill won a majority). Smith attempted to remain as Socialist Leader, however, Socialist rising star Harry Melbourne plotted a coup against the failed leader. This worked and she was forced out as Leader. However, her ambition did not die there. Smith, along with 4 remaining loyal AMs left the party to form the Labour Party. The Labour Party is considered one of the greatest political surprises in recent history as the party (with no grassroots or foundational support) went onto win the April 3019 Wiltshire Legislative Elections and remain the largest party in the June 3019 Wiltshire Legislative Elections. However, Labour was unable to secure a majority of the, now larger, Assembly and so Fillmore Grey formed the National Coalition with the Wiltshire First, Liberal and Green parties (all of which had made significant gains in the election).

Personally, Smith is married to Joseph Smith - a childhood best friend and has two children, Alex and Sam.
